...As a patrol officer, I think the 9850 would best suit my needs, since I often require a light for building clearing and low light vehicle stops. The flash/flood light capability is especially valuable in the latter circumstance, allowing me to look over ID / license while at the same time illuminating the vehicle's interior and subjects. I think the high output would also dazzle those on the receiving end
